S. Africa trade deficit hits USD1.1b in March


(MENAFN) According to data released, South Africa's trade deficit has grew wider in March of 2014, hitting USD1.1 billion, while in April it reached USD1.2 billion, Xinhua reported. The trade deficit is mainly attributed to exports, which amounted USD7.37 billion and imports of USD8.7 billion, according to the South African Revenue Service (SARS). Exports declined from March to April by USD 196 million, a 2.6-percent decrease, and imports decreased during the same period by USD 87 million, a 1 percent decline.
