Etihad Airways Marks UAEs 42nd National Day with Charitable Donations In Support Of People with Special Needs


(MENAFNEditorial) As part of the United Arab Emirates' 42nd National Day celebrations, Etihad Airways, the national airline of the UAE, has made a donation to the Zayed Higher Organization's Al Modheef Centre for elderly people with special needs A delegation of senior staff and volunteers from the airline's Abu Dhabi head office visited the centre on November 25 to deliver care parcels, comprising blankets and electronic equipment for the elderly. The Modheef Centre was established last October as part of the Zayed Higher Organization for Humanitarian Care and Special Needs and currently provides shelter to 70 patients mostly adults and elderly citizens suffering from severe disabilities and autism. The Centre is equipped to offer a range of specialised medical, educational, rehabilitation and psychiatric services to patients between the ages of nine and 70 years, in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Health Authority, Khaled Al Mehairbi, Etihad Airways' Senior Vice President of Government and Aero Political Affairs said: "Etihad Airways is committed to the community and the multicultural people who live in the UAE. "As the UAE celebrates its 42nd National Day we chose to pay special tribute to the elderly and patients with special needs and include them in the festivities. This is the spirit of the Union in the UAE."
