AMMAN —AlGhad— The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) issued a statement today, Sunday, warning smartphone users not to download or play any suicide games, particularly the 'Blue Whale. Also known as "Blue Whale Challenge", game reportedly consists of a series of tasks assigned to players by administrators over a 50-day period, with the final challenge requiring players to commit suicide.
Many experts believe that it is likely that the phenomenon has led to instances of imitative self-harming, leaving vulnerable children at risk of cyberbullying and online shaming.
Others claim the Game utilises brainwashing techniques and systematic alteration and conditioning methods throughout the games.
Similar games are accessible via a variety of Social Media platforms and are possibly downloadable via Google Play and Apple Store.
The Commission strongly urged citizens not to play any of these games and to pay special attention to what games children and teenagers are playing on their phones.
