Qatar Airways And Kenya Airways Sign Codeshare Deal
Dhaka: Qatar Airways and Kenya Airways have launched an expanded codeshare partnership covering 19 destinations, enhancing connectivity between Africa, the Middle East, and Asia, the two carriers said in a joint statement.
Under the new arrangement, announced on Oct. 20, Kenya Airways customers can book flights between Nairobi and Doha and onwards to 10 destinations through Qatar Airways' hub at Hamad International Airport (DOH).
Qatar Airways passengers will gain access to eight African destinations via Kenya Airways' network, connecting through three daily flights between Doha and Nairobi.
The codeshare flights will be available from Oct. 26, 2025, coinciding with the start of the IATA 2025/26 winter schedule. Kenya Airways will place its code on Qatar Airways-operated routes from Doha to Bahrain, Colombo, Dhaka, Islamabad, Karachi, Kuala Lumpur, Malé, Muscat, Singapore, and Tokyo-Narita.
In return, Qatar Airways will codeshare on Kenya Airways-operated flights to Abidjan (Côte d'Ivoire), Accra (Ghana), Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), Lilongwe (Malawi), Livingstone (Zambia), Juba (South Sudan), Nampula (Mozambique), and Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe).
Qatar Airways Chief Commercial Officer Thierry Antinori said the expanded partnership strengthens the airline's presence in Kenya and across Africa.“The recent addition of Qatar Airways' third daily flight to Nairobi is another cornerstone of this partnership,” he said.
Kenya Airways' Chief Commercial and Customer Officer Julius Thairu added the agreement would enhance customer access to destinations across three continents, providing "better connectivity and a seamless travel experience."
The two airlines said they plan to deepen cooperation in other areas, including cargo, airport operations, lounges, sustainability, procurement, and maintenance services.
In January 2025, Kenya Airways also signed a codeshare agreement with Air India to connect Africa and India, expanding an earlier interline arrangement.
