Kuwait Welcomes Kyrgyzstan's Approval Of Recommendations On Human Rights

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) GENEVA, Sept 25 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Permanent Mission to the UN in Geneva welcomed on Thursday Kyrgyzstan's endorsement of some essential recommendations, two of them were submitted by Kuwait, on boosting and protecting human rights.
This came in a speech delivered by Diplomatic Attachأ© Zeyad Abuhaimed, Kuwait's Permanent Mission member, within the framework of approving the results of Kyrgyzstan's Universal Periodic Review (UPR) as part of the 60th session of the UN Human Right Council in Geneva.
The Kuwaiti recommendations have urged continuing working on the State's programs to support women's leading role until 2030 and implementing the State's policy to prevent crime during 2022-2028, he added.
Abuhaimed said the Kuwaiti mission hoped success to Kyrgyzstan to implement the recommendations it approved.
The UPR was established by the UN General Assembly in resolution in March, 2006. It is a main tool of the Human Rights Council through which situations are evaluated in all member states by submitting recommendations of members and the review of national efforts. (end)
