Drone Attacks Damage Three Oil Fields in Iraq

(MENAFN) Early Wednesday, three oil facilities located in northern Iraq were targeted by drones carrying explosives, resulting in extensive infrastructure damage but fortunately no injuries, according to the Kurdish Regional Government (KRG).

The KRG’s Ministry of Natural Resources issued a statement strongly denouncing the assaults on the Tawke, Peshkhabur, and Ain Sifni oil installations, all situated in the regions of Zakho and Duhok.

“Although the attacks did not result in any casualties, they caused significant damage to the infrastructure of the fields,” the statement emphasized.

The ministry detailed the timeline of the incidents, noting that two explosive-laden drones hit the Peshkhabur oil facility between 6:00 and 6:15 a.m. local time (0300–0315 GMT), followed by another drone that struck the Tawke field at approximately 7:00 a.m. (0400 GMT).
As of now, no organization has come forward to take credit for the drone strikes.
