China Urges G7 To Adhere To UN Charter Principles

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BEIJING, Nov 27 (KUNA) - China urged on Wednesday the G7 group to adhere to the principles of the UN Charter and the basic rules governing international relations, calling on them to "focus on their own affairs."
In a statement, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said that China has repeatedly expressed its firm stance on the G7's "misleading remarks" on China this year, stressing that China's position on issues related to the East and South China Seas, Taiwan, Xinjiang, Hong Kong and Xizang remains firm.
Beijing strongly opposed the Group of Seven (G7) undermining China's sovereignty and interfering in its internal affairs, in response to a joint statement issued by the group's foreign ministers meeting that began last Monday in Italy.
Mao pointed out that her country adheres to an "objective and fair position" on the Ukrainian crisis. It seeks to make peace talks successful and denies providing any weapons to the parties to the conflict. (end)
