DOHA, Nov 27 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha) signed on Wednesday the Makkah Agreement for member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), to cooperate in implementing anti-corruption laws.
The signing took place on the sidelines of opening the second ministerial meeting of OIC anti-corruption organizations in the Qatari Capital, Doha.
Nazaha's Chairman Abdulaziz Al-Ibrahim told KUNA that signing the Makkah Agreement comes as part of the authority's keenness to implement and follow up on international anti-corruption accords and agreements that contribute to fighting corruption.
Al-Ibrahim stressed international cooperation in this regard, due to the increasing level of criminal activities in the world, adding that this agreement aims to enhance exchanging information between anti-corruption law enforcement authorities and technical assistance.
He noted that Nazaha had actively participated in outlining the Makkah Agreement, by raising its visions and recommendations, as well as actively participating in the expert teams' preparatory meetings.
