Turkish city experiences its first snowfall

(MENAFN) Bursa, Turkey, experienced its first snowfall of the season, with snow continuing overnight in the Uludağ region. The snowfall, which came with wind-driven snowstorms, caused the snow depth to reach 40 centimeters. Prior to the snow, southerly winds and rain affected the area, with intermittent snow continuing in high-altitude regions overnight. By morning, rain had replaced the snow in the city center, but higher areas and mountainous neighborhoods still saw snowfall.

In Uludağ, where the season's first snow began on October 17, the heavy snowfall that started yesterday continued into today. The snow covered hotel area tracks, and drivers faced challenges on the Uludağ Road. Snow depth in the region reached 40 centimeters, with temperatures ranging from a high of -5°C to a low of -9°C.

According to the Directorate General of Meteorology, snowfall in Uludağ is expected to continue into the night. However, the weather will shift to partly cloudy conditions tomorrow, with no additional snow forecast for the area this week.
