Tajikistan's Imports Of Petroleum Products Up


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, November 11. Tajikistan's imports of petroleum products increased during the first nine months of 2024, Trend reports.

According to the country's customs Committee, Tajikistan imported 769,700 tons during this period, which is a 17.3 percent increase compared to the same period of the previous year.

The total value of imports reached $611.5 million. Most of these imports-92.5 percent-originated from Russia.

Specifically, in the first nine months of 2024, Tajikistan brought in 375,500 tons of diesel fuel, 322,200 tons of gasoline, 22,800 tons of lubricants, and 46,200 tons of jet fuel.

In terms of overall trade, Tajikistan's turnover for January through September 2024 was $6.387 billion, a 25 percent increase from $5.103 billion in the same period of 2023. Exports accounted for $1.349 billion, a 45 percent rise year on year, while imports grew by 21 percent to $5.037 billion.
