Azerbaijan's Mod Visits Graves Of National Leader, Martyrs Ahead Of Victory Day (PHOTO)


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 7. The leadership of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense, accompanied by a group of military personnel of the Azerbaijan Army, has paid a solemn visit to the graves of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev and martyrs in commemoration of Victory Day, Trend reports via the ministry statement.

"Roses were arranged at the monument of the National Leader in the Alley of Honor, and his memory was commemorated with reverence. The leadership of the ministry visited the grave of esteemed ophthalmologist and academician Zarifa Aliyeva and paid tribute by laying roses.

Then, the Alley of Martyrs was visited. Bunches of flowers were arranged at the graves of martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, as well as at the Eternal Flame monument.

Next, the leadership and personnel of the Defense Ministry arrived at the Second Alley of Martyrs, where the National Anthem of Azerbaijan was performed by the military orchestra, and the memory of martyrs was commemorated.

Flowers were placed on the graves of our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of the Motherland, and their souls were commemorated with deep respect and reverence.

The Minister of Defense, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, met with the families and relatives of the martyrs, engaging in sincere conversations over a tea table and inquiring about their concerns and well-being.

The families of the Martyrs expressed their gratitude to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva, and the leadership of the Ministry of Defense for their attention and care," the statement said.

To note, Victory Day is a public holiday in Azerbaijan that is celebrated on November 8 in commemoration of Azerbaijani victory in the 2020 Second Karabakh War.
