Türkiye Writes Off Kyrgyzstan's External Debt - President Japarov


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, November 5. Türkiye has made the decision to write off Kyrgyzstan's external debt, the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov said during a meeting with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Bishkek today, Trend reports.

"I would like to express my gratitude to President Erdogan for the decision to write off Kyrgyzstan's external debt to Türkiye," Japarov stated.

On November 4, Erdogan arrived in Kyrgyzstan. The visit is expected to result in signing a number of bilateral agreements aimed at expanding strategic cooperation and further strengthening the interstate relations between the two countries.

Besides, on November 6, the Turkish president will participate in the Summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS).

To note, in July 2024, Kyrgyzstan's external debt amounted to $4.6 billion. According to forecasts by the Ministry of Finance, by the end of 2024, the external debt will reach $4.7 billion.
