Baku Set To Host 2Nd High-Level Ministerial Dialogue On Climate Action During COP29
The meeting is planned to be held in the Blue Zone at COP29, the ministry noted.
Ministers, deputy ministers, and leaders from international organizations will attend the event organized by the ministries of culture of the UAE, Brazil, and Azerbaijan. Approximately 120 guests, including experts and representatives from NGOs, are expected to participate. The high-level dialogue aims to foster international consensus on integrating culture-encompassing art and heritage-into the action plan for combating climate change.
Additionally, within the framework of COP29, Azerbaijan's pavilion will host an event co-organized by the Group of Friends of Culture-Based Climate Action, UNESCO, and the ministries of culture of Azerbaijan, the UAE, and Brazil. The project "Culture for Climate" (C4C), initiated by Azerbaijan, will also be presented.
To note, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Culture has prepared a series of initiatives leading up to COP29, including presentations of cultural events to be held at UNESCO headquarters, a conference titled "COP29 and Culture: Cultural Aspects of Climate Change," and panel discussions addressing environmental protection and the impact of climate change on cultural heritage at the 6th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue.
Other events include a special conference on the effects of mines and unexploded ordnance on cultural values in the city of Aghdam and the presentation of a bibliographic collection titled "Ecology of Azerbaijan," dedicated to the "Green World Solidarity Year," alongside 10 major and minor activities.
