Uzbekistan And Saudi Arabia Sign New Agreement On Air Communication

TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, October 23. Uzbekistan
and Saudi Arabia sign new intergovernmental agreement on air
communication, Trend reports.
The document was signed within the framework of the ICAO
ICAN-2024 international event, dedicated to negotiations on air
communication, which is held in Kuala Lumpur.
The delegation of Uzbekistan's Ministry of Transport, headed by
the director of the Uzaviation Agency Tokhir Nazarov takes part in
the international event.
Meanwhile, the volume of Saudi Arabia's investment portfolio in
Uzbekistan reached $24.1 billion. The country has rolled out 34
investment projects in Uzbekistan.
A total of thirteen projects spanning transportation,
digitization, infrastructure, healthcare, and energy will receive
an additional $1.5 billion in Uzbekistan this year, bringing the
total investment to $2.5 billion.
In 2023, Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia signed an array of
comprehensive agreements totaling $23 billion.
To note, Ministry of Transport Malaysia is hosting the sixteenth
ICAO Air Services Negotiation (ICAN2024) from 21 through 25 October
2024. The hybrid event in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, provides states,
either on-site or remotely, with a central meeting place to conduct
bilateral, regional, or plurilateral air services negotiations and
consultations and networking opportunities for policymakers,
regulators, air operators, service providers, and other
stakeholders.
