Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club Launches Therapeutic Horse-Riding Sessions for People of Determination

(MENAFN- Boopin) Abu Dhabi, UAE – Tuesday, 15 October 2024: The Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club (ADEC) is thrilled to announce the introduction of its Therapeutic Riding (TR) Sessions, a special programme designed for children and young adults with a variety of conditions such as Autism, Developmental Disabilities, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, and emotional or behavioural issues.

The sessions, led by international therapeutic riding instructor Jessie Ihrcke, are intended to improve emotional, physical, and mental well-being through meaningful interactions with horses.

Why horses?

Horses are unique therapeutic companions due to their present-focused nature—providing a secure, and unbiased environment. Horses offer rapid and honest feedback, acting as a mirror. This enables riders to improve self-awareness and insights into their emotions and habits.

In addition, horses provide sensory stimulation, which is especially good for children and young adults with developmental or physical disabilities. A horse's gait closely resembles that of a human, allowing riders who may struggle with movement to experience a "regular " gait achieving balanced motion while riding.
