During his time in prison, Martin was awarded a graduate journalism scholarship and went on to earn a Master of Science degree in Journalism at Ohio University after his release. Martin has since devoted over twenty years of his career to raising funds for universities and non-profits, culminating in his role at the United Negro College Fund in Manhattan.
