Azerbaijani Central Bank Weighs Financial Sanctions


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 1. Financial sanctions totaling 135,609 manat ($79,770) were applied in Azerbaijan during the first half of this year, Executive Director of the Central bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) Shahin Mahmudzade said at a presentation of the financial stability report for the first half of 2024 in Baku today, Trend reports.

"During the reporting period, 18 inspections were carried out, and 47 control measures were enacted in the financial sector. Financial sanctions amounting to 135,609 manat were imposed due to identified violations.

Furthermore, stringent actions were implemented against 37 entities, encompassing the revocation of licenses, suspension of activities, or the imposition of operational restrictions," he emphasized.
