Azerbaijani CEC Completes Reviewing Parliamentary Election Appeals - Chairman

BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 16. The Central
Election Commission (CEC) of Azerbaijan has completed reviewing
appeals in connection with the snap parliamentary election, CEC
Chairman Mazahir Panahov said during the commission's meeting in
Baku today, Trend reports.
Panahov stressed that the CEC is already starting to sum up the
election results.
“I also ordered to check the receipt of appeals by mail. The
time for accepting appeals written by hand has also already
expired. If any appeal arrives by mail on time, we'll be able to
send it to the Constitutional Court,” he added.
The snap parliamentary election was held in Azerbaijan on
September 1.
A total of 112,749 local observers were registered, including
over 65,000 representatives of political parties. There were 598
international observers from 51 organizations and 69 countries.
Among the 990 registered candidates, 305 represented 25
political parties, while 371 were party members but were not
nominated by their parties. In total, 676 candidates were
affiliated with political parties.
