High Organization Level Makes Part Of Azerbaijan's Parliamentary Polls - Official (PHOTO)

BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 2. Parliamentary
elections in Azerbaijan were organized at a high level, the
representative of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, Musin
Sos, said at a press conference, Trend reports.
“At the invitation of the Azerbaijani Parliament, our delegation
visited the country. While visiting polling stations in Baku, the
delegation witnessed good organization of elections,” he said.
Musin Sos noted that the delegation was able to get acquainted
with representatives of all parties in the elections. He added that
all conditions for voting were created at the polling stations.
“We highly appreciate the efforts of Azerbaijan's CEC in
organizing the parliamentary elections. The elections were
transparent and all observers could familiarize themselves with the
voting process in detail,” he said.
To note, extraordinary parliamentary elections were held in
Azerbaijan on September 1.
According to preliminary data, voter turnout at the elections
amounted to 37.27 percent. The number of voters casting their
ballots amounted to 2,196,771. A total of 5,895 polling stations
submitted their protocols to the CEC.
A total of 112,749 domestic observers were registered to observe
the election. More than 65,000 of them were representatives of
political parties.
The number of registered international observers was 598,
representing 51 organizations, in 69 countries.
Out of 990 registered candidates in the parliamentary elections,
305 are representatives of 25 political parties. Whereas 371
candidates are members of political parties, they were not
nominated by the parties to which they belong. A total of 676
candidates have political party affiliation.
