Negative Incidents Steer Clear Of Azerbaijan's Parliamentary Elections - Official

BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 2. The extraordinary
parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan have been completely
incident-free, first deputy chairman of the House of
Representatives of Morocco, Mohamed Sabbari, told reporters,
Trend reports.
He noted that all of Azerbaijan's sovereign territories,
including the recently liberated Karabakh, were subject to special
parliamentary elections that took place the day before.
“Not a single negative incident was recorded during the election
process, which demonstrates the transparency of the process and its
compliance with all rules. I congratulate the Azerbaijani people on
the success of the elections,” Sabbari said.
To note, extraordinary parliamentary elections were held in
Azerbaijan on September 1.
According to preliminary data, voter turnout at the elections
amounted to 37.27 percent. The number of voters casting their
ballots amounted to 2,196,771. A total of 5,895 polling stations
submitted their protocols to the CEC.
A total of 112,749 domestic observers were registered to observe
the election. More than 65,000 of them were representatives of
political parties.
The number of registered international observers was 598,
representing 51 organizations, in 69 countries.
Out of 990 registered candidates in the parliamentary elections,
305 are representatives of 25 political parties. Whereas 371
candidates are members of political parties, they were not
nominated by the parties to which they belong. A total of 676
candidates have political party affiliation.
