Organization Of Voting Process Constitutes Success Of Azerbaijan's Polls - Morrocan MP


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 2. The voting process at the extraordinary parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan was organized at a high level, the first deputy chairman of the House of Representatives of the Moroccan parliament Mohamed Sabbari told Trend .

“The polling stations were very well prepared for voters to enjoy their right to vote, and the voting process was organized at a high level. The atmosphere during the voting was also wonderful,” he said.

According to him, conditions were also created for representatives of candidates.

“Voter lists were accurately viewed and controlled. Voters conveniently voted in designated places and threw their ballot paper into a transparent ballot box. Representatives of Morocco observed the elections, engaged in conversations, and heard only positive comments about the elections, which demonstrates the transparency of the process. We congratulate the Azerbaijani people on democratic elections,” he added.

To note, extraordinary parliamentary elections were held in Azerbaijan on September 1.

According to preliminary data, voter turnout at the elections amounted to 37.27 percent. The number of voters casting their ballots amounted to 2,196,771. A total of 5,895 polling stations submitted their protocols to the CEC.

A total of 112,749 domestic observers were registered to observe the election. More than 65,000 of them were representatives of political parties.

The number of registered international observers was 598, representing 51 organizations, in 69 countries.

Out of 990 registered candidates in the parliamentary elections, 305 are representatives of 25 political parties. Whereas 371 candidates are members of political parties, they were not nominated by the parties to which they belong. A total of 676 candidates have political party affiliation.
