Civil Solidarity Party Issues Statement On Azerbaijan's Parliamentary Election


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 2. The Civil Solidarity Party has issued a statement regarding the snap parliamentary election in Azerbaijan, Trend reports.

"The Civil Solidarity Party has participated in all elections in the history of Azerbaijani parliamentarism and has achieved success in all of them. The party, having increased its experience from election to election, also distinguished itself by its activity in the election to the VII convocation of the Parliament of Azerbaijan.

A total of 17 candidates from the Civil Solidarity Party participated in the parliamentary election, and our party conducted its campaign comfortably and freely in a democratic electoral environment and favorable conditions created for the campaign.

The candidates carried out their campaign activities without obstacles, not only in the closed and open spaces designated by the Central Election Commission (CEC) but also in every settlement, village, town, and neighborhood, resulting in significant success.

During this time, the party leadership and candidates met with members of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) long-term observation mission for the parliamentary election in Azerbaijan, members of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly observation mission, and representatives of many embassies operating in our country. They discussed the electoral environment and informed them about the candidates' campaign efforts.

The feedback from our observers, who monitored the election process on September 1 in 51 out of 125 electoral districts, as well as from the surveillance cameras installed in hundreds of polling stations and monitored from the party headquarters, provides grounds to state that the election to the VII convocation of the Parliament of Azerbaijan was conducted safely, democratically, and transparently.

According to preliminary results, three out of 17 candidates from our party won and successfully completed the electoral marathon.

All necessary conditions were created in the parliamentary election on September 1 for the population to vote comfortably for their desired candidate, and there was no influence on their choice.

The Civil Solidarity Party sincerely congratulates all candidates who achieved success in the preliminary election results and wishes them success in their activities," the party's statement added.

The snap parliamentary election was held in Azerbaijan on September 1.

According to preliminary data , the voter turnout in the election reached 37.27 percent.

A total of 2,196,771 voters had cast their ballots in the election, and 5,895 polling stations submitted their protocols to the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Azerbaijan.

A total of 112,749 local observers have been registered, including over 65,000 representatives of political parties. There were 598 international observers from 51 organizations and 69 countries.

Among the 990 registered candidates, 305 represent 25 political parties, while 371 are party members but were not nominated by their parties. In total, 676 candidates are affiliated with political parties.
