Since its establishment in 2017 by the Jassim and Hamad bin Jassim Charitable Foundation within the Azraq camp in the Zarqa Governorate in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Sheikh Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani Primary health Care Center has been keen on providing integrated medical care services to our Syrian refugee brothers, which has had a significant impact on the health situation of the camp's residents, and reflected the positive impact that the center has created by providing a range of specialised and qualitative medical services to the residents of the second village.

The most important of these specialities are: general medicine, paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology, dentistry, and other services such as an emergency and ambulance department, a vaccination and inoculation unit, as well as the provision of medicines through the center's pharmacy.

The staff at Sheikh Jassim Bin Jaber Al Thani Primary Health Care Center are keen on interacting with the local community at the camp and recording their level of satisfaction with the services provided by the center, which are delivered by a distinguished group of qualified and trained medical professionals, to ensure the quality of medical services.

Statistics:

According to statistics recorded over the first half of 2024 on the number of beneficiaries of the center's services, the number of patients benefiting from the services of specialised medical clinics (general medicine, paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology, dentistry, in addition to the emergency and ambulance department, and the vaccination and immunization unit) amounted to more than 23,593 patients. While the total number of prescriptions dispensed to patients through the pharmacy for the same period of the current year amounted to 15,546 prescriptions.

Quality of services:

The center's services were not limited to providing traditional medical care, but rather it continuously seeks to improve its services with the aim of improving the health conditions of the camp's residents, prompting the Jassim and Hamad bin Jassim Charitable Foundation to implement a qualitative initiative at the level of services provided by the Sheikh Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani Primary Health Care Center, most prominently the establishment of a clinic specialising in chronic diseases - notably diabetes and high blood pressure - and providing the necessary healthcare for patients, helping to alleviate the health and psychological effects of this type of disease and making patients more accepting of their health conditions and making it easier for them to live with these conditions.

One of the center's vital contributions is providing vaccinations for newborns and monitoring their health conditions continuously and with great care.

The center's services also go beyond the professional and scientific medical boundaries, as the medical and nursing staff take initiative to raise health awareness among different patients and play an awareness-raising role with the aim of improving health conditions in the camp by ensuring the provision of medical advice and guidance, especially for pregnant and breastfeeding mothers.

The foundation, in cooperation with the center's medical staff, also took the initiative to establish a specialised department concerned with educating patients with chronic diseases and supporting their health literacy to enable them to deal with these diseases in a more effective manner, which will directly reflect on their lifestyle in general.
