Nikki Haley supports Trump for Republican nomination for president

(MENAFN) Former UN ambassador and South Carolina governor Nikki Haley endorsed Donald trump for the Republican nomination for president on Tuesday, despite their past differences during the primary season.

Speaking at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Haley emphasized unity within the party and endorsed Trump unequivocally. "Donald Trump has my strong endorsement. Period," she declared, citing the need for a unified Republican Party to address the challenges facing the country.

Haley stressed the importance of expanding the party's base and welcoming diversity, stating, "We are so much better when we are bigger." She acknowledged that while she hasn't always agreed with Trump, they share common ground on key issues like national security and preserving American freedoms.

Highlighting Trump's foreign policy achievements, Haley credited him with deterring Russian aggression during his presidency. "Russian President Vladimir Putin didn't attack Ukraine when Trump was president because he knew Trump was tough," she asserted, praising Trump's assertive stance on international relations.

The endorsement comes as the Republican Party officially nominated Trump as its candidate for the 2024 presidential election, following an assassination attempt during a recent campaign event in Pennsylvania.
