(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Russia's missile attack on Ukraine on July 8 has killed 44 people and left 196 others injured.

Svitlana Vodolaha, a spokesperson for Ukraine's State Emergency Service, said this at a briefing on Thursday, Ukrinform reports.

"On July 8, we had one of the most massive Russian attacks on our country, particularly on the capital. Morning strikes targeted Kyiv, Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih and partly the Kyiv region. Unfortunately, 44 people were killed and 196 were injured, including ten children. Rescue workers rescued 11 people, including three children," Vodolaha said.

She also clarified that the attack on Kyiv had killed 33 people and injured 125, including ten children.

"We rescued 11 people," she added.

According to Vodolaha, on July 8, rescuers worked in seven districts of the Ukrainian capital.

"In total, rescuers worked at 18 locations. Five locations were the most crowded and the scariest: the Okhmatdyt children's hospital, the Adonis medical center, a residential building in the Shevchenkivskyi district, in the Holosiivskyi district, and the business center on Ushynskoho [Street]. That's where people were killed," Vodolaha said.
