After the Pakistani Defense Minister hinted at possible operations against the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in Afghanistan, Imran Khan's PTI condemned the remarks, stating that Pakistan should refrain from interfering in other countries.

Recently, Pakistan's Defense Minister cautioned that under the military's new operation,“Operation Resolve,” Pakistani Taliban sanctuaries in Afghanistan would be targeted.

In an interview with Voice of America's Urdu section, Pakistan's Defense Minister accused the Afghan Taliban of sheltering Pakistani fighters.

Asad Qaiser, a senior member of Pakistan's ruling party, expressed concerns over Pakistan's military actions mirroring India's competitive behaviour towards Afghanistan, according to Geo TV.

Qaiser emphasized that Pakistan cannot afford escalation of conflict and instability in the region.

He believes that conducting attacks inside Afghanistan could dangerously escalate the entire region towards war.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party underscored the need to refrain from intervening in any other country.

Opposition leaders criticized Khawaja Asif's statements, warning that they endanger not only Pakistan and Afghanistan's brotherly relations but also regional peace.

Omar Ayub, another opposition member, equated launching attacks on Afghan soil to igniting a war in the region.

In recent months, Pakistan has seen a surge in attacks by the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), specifically targeting Pakistani officials and security forces. The TTP has intensified its insurgency, Pakistani officials alleging that Afghan Taliban factions are supporting and sheltering TTP operations.

These attacks have resulted in casualties among Pakistani law enforcement and military personnel, exacerbating tensions within the region.

However, the Afghan Taliban have vehemently denied these allegations. Spokespersons for the Taliban have stated that they do not support the TTP or its activities inside Pakistan.

Despite these denials, the accusations have strained relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan, adding complexity to efforts aimed at regional stability and security cooperation.
