(MENAFN- UkrinForm) In January-April 2024, Ukraine imported goods worth $21.92 billion, 7.6% up on year. At the same time, the export of Ukrainian goods increased by 0.3%, to $13.45 billion.
This was reported by the State Statistics Service , Ukrinform saw.
"In January - April 2024, the export of goods amounted to $13,451.0 million, or 100.3% against January-April 2023, imports – to $21,928.1 million, or 107.6%," the report says.
According to the State Statistics Service, the negative balance for the specified period stood at $8.47 billion (last year it was also negative, at $6.97 billion).
It is emphasized that Ukraine ran foreign trade transactions with partners from 210 countries.

Compared to the same period last year, the largest increase was seen in the export volume of ferrous metals (+16.4%), up to $959.8 million, and fats/oils of animal and vegetable origin (+3.0%), up to $2.06 billion. At the same time, exports of grain were down by 7.4%, to $3.66 billion.
Land transport equipment (+43.1%, up to $2.61 billion) and nuclear reactors, boilers and machines (+39.9%, up to $1.92 billion) remain in the lead in terms of import growth. The largest reduction in volumes was seen in the import of fuel (40.4% below last year's figures, standing at $2.69 billion).

As reported earlier, referring to the Ministry of Economy, the volume of export of goods from Ukraine in May amounted to 12.2 million tonnes and $3.34 billion in monetary terms.
