GCC Chief Applauds Slovenia's Recognition Of State Of Palestine


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) RIYADH, June 5 (KUNA) -- GCC Secretary General Jassem Albudaiwi on Wednesday applauded the significant step that has been taken by the Slovenia government and its parliament, recognizing the State of Palestine.
This move affirms the international community's recognition of the Palestinian people's rights and contributes to the efforts to enable them attain their legal and legitimate rights.
Albudaiwi acclaimed the Slovenian Government and parliament's decision to recognize the State of Palestine, saying this decision brings into light this nation's support for international laws and covenants and its backing for the bids to end the conflict in the Middle East.
He appealed to other nations to follow the example of Slovenia and help the Palestinian people live in security.
The Slovenia Parliament approved a government request to recognize Palestine during a session held late on Tuesday. (end)
