Kyrgyzstan's Freight Seeks Access To Europe Via Azerbaijan - Official


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, April 29. Freight fromKyrgyzstan can access Europe via Azerbaijan, co-chairman of theAzerbaijan-Kyrgyzstan Development Fund board, Almaz Mambetov said,Trend reports.

"Significant commercial endeavors are currently ongoing inKyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan. Notably, building is underway inKyrgyzstan for the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan line, which willfacilitate access to Turkmenistan. From there, freight can becarried to Azerbaijan via the Caspian Sea, in line with Azerbaijaniinterests. Additionally, freight from Kyrgyzstan will have accessto European markets via Azerbaijan," the co-chair said.

According to him, Kyrgyzstan must now assess what it may sell toEurope via Azerbaijani ports.

The 454-kilometer-long China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railroad lineproject aims to link China's railroads with those of Uzbekistan viaKyrgyzstan, ultimately integrating into the European railroadnetwork.
