(MENAFN- UkrinForm) The intensity of hostilities has reduced in the Tavria sector, but Russian troops are still making attempts to counterattack. The relevant statement was made by Spokesperson for the Joint Press Center of the Defense Forces in the Tavria direction Oleksandr Shtupun during a nationwide telethon, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“Now, the intensity of hostilities has somewhat reduced in the Tavria sector, but the enemy is still making attempts to counterattack near Verbove, Staromaiorske. They also launched unsuccessful attacks near Marinka. Near Avdiivka, we have somewhat 'soothed' the enemy for now,” Shtupun told.
In his words, Ukraine's Defense Forces achieved certain success in the Novoprokopivka direction.
Over the past day, the enemy's losses have included 181 troops and 15 military equipment units. Fifteen more equipment units were damaged.
According to Shtupun, Russian invaders are holding“active defense” in the Berdiansk sector.
Russians are failing to bring reserves on time there and, thus, are calling up civilians from the temporarily occupied areas.
