Katara Summer Camp To Conclude Today

Doha, Qatar: The Katara Summer Camp will conclude its activities today, August 15, with the participation of several entities, including the Ministry of Interior, represented by the General Administration of Civil Defense, the General Administration for Drug Control, the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, the Qatari Red Crescent, the Al Jazeera media Institute, the Nomas Center, and the Shooting Club.
In addition to an active contribution to a number of facilities and centers of the Katara Cultural Village, which are the Al Thuraya Planetarium, the Al Qannas Association and the Poetry Council. These parties provided many training, awareness and educational workshops, and the camp management was keen to include sports activities such as football, beach soccer and archery.
Al Jazeera Media Institute presented a workshop on mobile photography, and the participants interacted with it and learned techniques that help them in professional ways to obtain images of high quality and clarity.
These workshops fall within the initiative of Al Jazeera Ambassadors, and they are very important as they were designed specifically for the attention of young people, which is an important category that must receive the required attention from everyone. A series of religious lectures were presented by the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, which contribute to enhancing children's culture and religious knowledge in an interactive manner.
Through their visit to the Al Mahamil Museum, the participants got acquainted with valuable information about the fishing and diving trips that the ancestors carried out in Qatar in the past. They also learned about the types of bearings. These field visits included in the camp programme aimed to introduce children to the maritime heritage. Sports competitions continued between the participants including football and beach volleyball, throwing and running competitions were also conducted.
