Ecuador presidential nominee gets assassinated at rally


(MENAFN) Ecuadorean leadership nominee, Fernando Villavicencio, was murdered on Wednesday, Leader Guillermo Lasso stated, swearing that the assassination is not going to be let go without punishment.

Domestic press had previously stated Villavicencio, a previous legislator who had been voting at 7.5 per cent voting purpose, had been shot at a movement happening in Quito.

“For his memory and his fight, I assure you that this crime will not remain unpunished,” Lasso stated on X, the social media podium previously recognized as Twitter.

“Organized crime has gone very far, but all the weight of the law will fall on them.”

Mr. Lasso stated he would conduct high safety representatives at a crucial conference.

Clips on social media supposedly from the movement happening displayed humans taking shelter as well as shouting as gunfire sounds went off.

Villavicencio, from the Andean district of Chimborazo, was a previous union associate at district oil firm Petroecuador and later a reporter who condemned supposed millions in oil agreement losses.
