Doha, Qatar: For the third week in a row, the Katara Summer Camp continues its activities with the participation of 42 children, and a number of agencies, including the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, Qatar Red Crescent, Al Jazeera media Institute, Nomas Center, and Shooting Club.
The camp seeks to contribute to the development of the knowledge and skills of the participants through the preparation of an integrated programme aimed at developing social and national values, and motivates them to research, initiate and upgrade their capabilities and talents. The camp administration was also keen to prepare ideas containing fun activities to motivate them to work together, which enhances the idea of communication with others and builds social skills. It also makes the child experience how to work within a team.
The General Directorate of Civil Defense also presented a workshop on methods of security and safety from accidents, to build a personality capable of dealing with risks. The Nomas Center offers Qatari Ardha training, in which children are trained on all that distinguishes the Qatari Ardha from others. The encouraging competitions presented by the camp in beach volleyball football matches aim to revive the sportsmanship among the competitors to obtain the title of the winning team or the best shooter. The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs presented an awareness workshop on ablution, its virtues and the importance of purity.
And on the digital identity, Zainab Al Hajji, an executive official in the Department of International Communication, presented a workshop within the participation of Al Jazeera Media Institute within the framework of the Al Jazeera Ambassadors initiative. Through it, the children learned what the digital identity means, its types, uses, and the specifics related to the digital identity. She added that the participating group was very interactive and responsive, and they are the source of information, and this reflects their awareness and intelligence.
Al Hajji praised Katara's efforts to provide successful and distinctive events and activities throughout the year, especially in the camp, which she considered a very special and rich programme.“The number of participants in the camp in the third week is large, as in the previous two weeks, and this is clear evidence of the volume of efforts made in communicating with the various authorities in the country with the aim of Presenting an integrated and diversified program that seeks to enrich skills and knowledge. This is not new to Katar, as we have come back to present a variety of festivals and special events.”
The programme for today, Monday, will be full of various activities, starting from 10am until 6pm.
