Enemy Attacks Khmelnytskyi Region Three Times Within A Day


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) The Khmelnytskyi Regional Military Administration revealed the consequences of a Russian missile attack on the region last night.

"Since the evening of August 5, the enemy attacked Khmelnytskyi region three times. The Starokostiantyniv airfield annoys the enemy. There was a series of explosions in Starokostiantyniv and Khmelnytskyi communities. Most of the missiles were shot down by the air defense forces. We thank them for their quality work," Serhiy Tiurin, the first deputy head of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Military Administration, posted on telegram .

Moreover, in Starokostiantyniv community, the blast wave damaged the roof, doors and windows of several private houses, windows were broken in a municipal cultural institution, the premises of a bus station, and commercial premises.

In addition, as a result of an enemy attack, a fire broke out in a corn waste warehouse in the territory of the elevator in Starokostiantyniv community.

Sixteen rescuers on three units of fire-rescue equipment worked at the scene. The fire was put out on an area of 1,400 sq m. An employee of the facility was injured as a result of the explosion.

The air defense units were working in the territory of Khmelnytskyi community. The data are being specified.

As reported, the Russians launched two waves of missile attacks on the evening of August 5 and the night of August 6. In the first wave of the attack on the evening of August 5, the enemy used 14 Kalibr sea-launched cruise missiles and three Kh-47 Kinzhal air-launched ballistic missiles. Twelve out of 14 Kalibr missiles were destroyed by the air defense units. Information about Kinzhal missiles has not been made public.

Later at night, the enemy continued to attack with Shahed-136/131 UAVs from the southeast, Kalibr cruise missiles from the Black Sea, and Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles from Tu-95MS strategic aircraft from the Caspian Sea area.

The Air Force reported that all 27 Shahed-136/131 UAVs, five out of six Kalibr missiles (second wave), and 13 out of 20 Kh-101/Kh-555 air-launched cruise missiles were destroyed.
