(MENAFN- Bangladesh Monitor) Dhaka: US-Bangla Airlines has become the first private carrier of the country to successfully complete the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA).
According to IATA's registry available online on the association's website, the IOSA certificate that the airline received is valid till February 9, 2025.
Furthermore, Argus Pros, one of the five audit firms worldwide designated by IATA, acted as the auditor for US-Bangla Airlines to obtain the IOSA certificate.
To receive the IOSA certificate, the airline had to take into consideration the progress of all the indicators of a total of eight disciplines. The indicators include-flight operations, cabin safety, dispatch, maintenance, ground handling, cargo operations, security and organisation.
Also, the airline had to consider SMS (Safety Management System) and QMS (Quality Management System).
IATA awarded US-Bangla with the IOSA certification as the airline met all these indicators.
It may be mentioned here, the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) Programme is an internationally recognised and accepted evaluation system designed to assess the operational management and control systems of an airline.
The IOSA audit creates a standard that is comparable on a world-wide basis, enabling and maximising the joint use of audit reports.
This has saved the industry over 6400 redundant audits and continues to lead to extensive cost-savings for IOSA participating airlines.
All IATA members are IOSA registered and must remain registered to maintain IATA membership.
