South Khorasan worth of exports surges by 94 percent in Q1


(MENAFN) Based on a provincial representative, the worth of exports from South Khorasan province in eastern Iran surged by 94 percent over the first 3 months of the ongoing Iranian calendar year (March 21-June 21).


South Khorasan province exported 304,286 tons of commodities valued USD39.057 million over the the mentioned quarter, according to Mohammad Kouhgard, director-general of the province's Customs Department.


He identified Iraq, Armenia, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, as well as Afghanistan as key export destinations, as well as cement, melons, tiles and ceramics, and plastic goods as major export categories.

The government spokesperson also stated that 730,000 tons of products worth USD1.635 million were imported into the province in the first 3 months of 2023.

The Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) reported that Iran's non-oil trade totaled 44.1 million tons valued USD26.5 billion in the first quarter of the ongoing Iranian calendar year.
