Western countries fears that Russia, China will exploitation geopolitical commotion

(MENAFN) Western administrations have allegedly triggered worries that Russia and China are going to exploit geopolitical commotion by intensifying their impact over the resource-rich Arctic zone.

The Financial Times stated during this week that senior governor in the West are worrying that the Arctic is no longer protected from the geopolitical strains that are more known in other parts of the globe.

As the seven Western members of the Arctic Council have ended collaborations with Russia due to its attack on Ukraine, “it can’t be business as usual,” Norwegian Premier Jonas Gahr Store stated.

Finnish Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto mourned that the outcome might be “an Arctic with no rules, or an Arctic area with no common goal for climate change. It would be free for everyone to use for shipping routes, for raw materials.”
