Doha Institute for Graduate Studies Announces PhD Admissions for 2023-2024 Academic Year
(MENAFN) Doha Institute for graduate Studies (DI) has recently revealed the outcomes of its admissions process for the PhD studies for the upcoming academic year of 2023-2024. From a pool of over 1,983 applications received from various countries, a total of 11 students have been accepted. Notably, Qatari students accounted for 36 percent of the admitted candidates.
Dr. Mohamed Al Nawawi, the Director of the Board of Doctoral Studies at DI, highlighted that the selection process followed rigorous standards based on academic excellence and adherence to best practices in student evaluation and acceptance criteria. The primary objective of DI is to cultivate a new generation of Qatari and Arab researchers, empowering them to pursue advanced studies and actively contribute to the development of their communities.
Dr. Al Nawawi further elaborated on DI's offering of doctoral studies in eight diverse programs, including Development Economics, Public Administration, Politics and International Relations, Linguistics and Arabic Lexicography, History, Sociology, Media Studies, and Critical Security Studies. The new academic year is scheduled to commence on August 20, while the application process for the subsequent academic year of 2024-2025 will open in September. It is noteworthy that this upcoming cohort will be the second group of PhD students, following the enrollment of four students in the inaugural cohort last year.
