Ministry Clarifies Cabinet's Announcement On Fee Exemption For Non-Qatari Students

Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) issued a clarification statement regarding the amendments introduced by the Cabinet today, May 31, concerning the exemption of non-Qatari students from certain fees.

In an explanatory statement, the MoEHE said that“non-Qatari students who are not GCC nationals and exempted from these fees” was in reference to the children of Imams and Muezzins affiliated with the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs.

The Ministry's statement said that the aforementioned group would be added to other groups previously exempt from these fees in accordance with the decision referred to.

The Cabinet announced earlier today that they approved a draft decision of the Minister of Education and Higher Education amending some provisions of Decision No. 42 of 2017 setting the price of schools textbooks and school transport fees for non-Qatari students who are not GCC nationals and exempting them from these fees.
