Ebad Seeks Afghanistan's Representation In WHA

KABUL (Pajhwok): Acting Public health Minister Dr. Qalandar Ebad has asked international partners to help Afghanistan become member of the World Health Organization (WHO)'s governing body World Health Assembly and the Regional Office of the Eastern Mediterranean in order to share its health priorities and needs with the world.
The Ministry of Public Health on Sunday wrote on its twitter page that Ebad made the call during his speech at the meeting of G5 countries in Iran.
Ebad stressed cooperation in the field of health, especially controlling infectious diseases that were easily transmitted from one country to another because diseases knew no borders.
The deputy minister said they provided health services to people in areas which had been deprived of health services in the past according to available resources, but some areas still needed work and in this regard, coordination and assistance was required.
He said Afghanistan was a leading country when it came to implementation of the Covid-19 vaccine and polio vaccine.
Ebad said some circles were spreading rumors to confuse minds that female health workers were banned in Afghanistan.
He said all female workers were busy providing health services to their countrymen in the light of Islamic and Sharia rules to ensure the health of female patients, mothers and children.
