Saudi Arabia Seizes Over 12.7 Mln Illegal Amphetamine Pills

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) RIYADH, April 25 (KUNA) -- Authorities in Saudi Arabia seized over 12.7 million amphetamine pills hidden amidst a pomegranate shipping that was being smuggled through Jeddah airport, the Narcotics Control General Directorate said on Tuesday.
This came during a periodical follow-up of smuggling narcotic nets that target Saudi Arabia's security and people, in cooperation with the tax and customs authorities, spokesman for the directorate Major Marwan Al-Hazmi said in a statement carried by Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
He added that the defendants were arrested to take legal measures against them. (end)
