With the handling of 18,553 TEUs on a single vessel, King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam has achieved yet another milestone, setting a new record for throughput among Saudi ports.
The 400-meter, 20,000-TEU containership CSCL INDIAN OCEAN, arriving from the Far East, broke the previous record of 18,021 TEUs set in Q2 2022 to accomplish the historic milestone with the help of container terminal operator Saudi Global Ports.
The most recent accomplishment highlights the advanced operating capabilities and cutting-edge logistics solutions at the Dammam-based hub, which has increasingly served as a port of call for leading container carriers boasting mega fleets, in addition to realizing the strategic goals of the Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) and the National Transport and Logistics Strategy (NTLS).
