US House Intelligence Committee pushes for declassification of Covid-19 origins information

(MENAFN) The United States House Intelligence Committee has approved its own version of a bill that demands the United Staes government to disclose all available information it possesses about the origins of the Covid-19 pandemic, specifically related to the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China. The committee's version of the bill aligns with a Senate-approved bill currently under consideration by congress that would require Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines to release to the public as much information as possible about the virus's origins, including potential links to the Wuhan lab.

The newly passed legislation aims to provide the American public with answers to all aspects of the pandemic, including whether the virus was a natural occurrence or a lab-related event. Committee chairman Mike Turner pointed out that the intelligence community has more information about Covid-19 than what the public has seen and believes the American public deserves to know the truth about how the pandemic began.

The bill passed unanimously by the committee and will now proceed for a floor vote in the House, followed by President Joe Biden's signature. If enacted into law, the legislation would mandate the United States government to provide a transparent disclosure of all information about the pandemic's origins, including potential links to the Wuhan lab, which has been a contentious issue since the outbreak began.
