GAZA, March 3 (KUNA) -- Bamboo furniture making, a traditional Palestinian craft, is yet another skill facing the consequences of industrialization as only a few craftspeople in Gaza continue to practice it.
In an effort to keep traditions alive, workshops are creating modern designs that keep pace with rapidly evolving furnishing industry. The models retain a sense of heritage but with sleek attractive designs.
Recycling bamboo is done through several stages during manufacturing process, requiring expertise and intricacy as fire is used to shape it into the desired form. (end)
