The Palestinian Center for Development and media Freedoms 'MADA' condemns the flagrant attack against journalists in Nablus yesterday,
which resulted in the injury of three journalists in different parts of their bodies while covering the storming therein by the Occupation forces.

An-Najah TV cameraman, OMAIR JAMAL ISTITIYEH, was wounded by a fragment in the ear, and Palestine TV reporter in Salfit, MOHAMMED AL-KHATIB, was shot in the hand, while journalist AHMED KHALAF suffocated with gas.

The occupation forces targeted the journalists even though they were wearing press uniforms marked with“Press”, which clearly indicates that they are journalists performing their work in the field.

MADA denounces the flagrant attacks and harassment against Palestinian journalists while performing their work at the hands of the Israeli occupation forces, and calls on the international community to compel the occupation authorities to stop the attacks of their forces on journalists, as well as to respect international laws and covenants that guarantee the freedom of press work stipulating that journalists are civilian individuals who must be protected and anyone who is attacked and assaulted must be prosecuted.

During the past year 2022, MADA documented (416) Israeli violations against media freedoms, representing 69% of all violations documented during the year.
