Armed Forces Of Ukraine Repel Enemy Attacks Near 11 Settlements In Three Regions


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) On February 20, units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled enemy attacks in the areas of 11 settlements in Kharkiv, Luhansk, and Donetsk regions.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said this in an operational update published on Facebook, Ukrinform reports

'During the day, the enemy launched six missile attacks and 28 air strikes on the civilian infrastructure of Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions. In addition, the enemy launched 86 attacks using multiple launch rocket systems. As a result of the attacks by Russian occupiers, civilian residential buildings, schools and shops were destroyed and damaged. There were casualties,” the report says.

The threat of Russian air strikes and missile attacks on the entire territory of Ukraine remains high, the General Staff warned.

It is noted that the enemy continues to focus their main efforts on conducting offensive operations in the Kupiansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Shakhtarsk directions in the Nevske, Bakhmut, Novobakhmutivka, Vodiane and Maryinka districts.

Over the past day, units of the Defense Forces repelled enemy attacks in the areas of Hrianykivka and Masiutivka settlements in Kharkiv region; Bilohorivka in Luhansk region and Vasiukivka, Berkhivka, Bakhmut, Vasylivka, Novobakhmutivka, Vodiane, Nevelske and Maryinka in Donetsk region.

In the Volyn, Polissia, Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna directions, no signs of the formation of enemy offensive groups were recorded. Throughout the day, the enemy shelled the areas of Senkivka and Yeline in Chernihiv region; Novoslobidske, Bilopillia, Yunakivka, Myropilske and Krasnopillia in Sumy region; and more than 25 settlements in Kharkiv region.

In the Kupiansk and Lyman directions, the enemy shelled the settlements of Dvorichna, Hrianykivka, Pishchane, Krokhmalne, and Pershotravneve in Kharkiv region; Stelmakhivka, Nevske, Chervonopopivka, Bilohorivka in Luhansk region: Dibrova, Fedorivka, Ivanivka and Kotliarivka in Donetsk region. Air strikes were recorded in the areas of Bilohorivka and Spirne.

In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy shelled more than 20 settlements, including Rozdolivka, Bilohorivka, Vasiukivka, Zaliznianske, Bakhmut, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka, Kurdiumivka, Ozarianivka, Oleksandro-Shultyne, New York and Vesele in Donetsk region.

In the Avdiivka and Shakhtarsk direction, more than 30 settlements came under artillery fire, including Novobakhmutivka, Avdiivka, Vodiane, Nevelske, Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Maryinka, Bohoiavlenka, Vuhledar and Prechystivka in Donetsk region. The enemy also launched air strikes on the areas near Oleksandropil, Kamianka, Avdiivka, Maryinka, and Vuhledar.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, Russian forces launched artillery strikes on more than 25 settlements, including Novoandriivka, Vremivka and Novopil in Donetsk region;
Olhivske, Malynivka, Huliaipole, Mala Tokmachka, Orikhiv, Novodanylivka and Stepove in Zaporizhzhia region.

In the Kherson direction, areas of more than 35 settlements came under enemy artillery fire, including Zolota Balka, Dudchany, Kachkarivka, Beryslav, Kozatske, Mykolaivka, Antonivka, Kherson, Dniprovske, Berehove, and Veletenske in Kherson region.

On February 20, the Ukrainian Air Force launched 16 strikes on the areas of concentration of enemy personnel and military equipment, as well as one strike on their anti-aircraft missile system. In addition, Ukrainian defenders shot down three Lancet UAVs.

As reported, since February 24, 2022, the Defense Forces of Ukraine eliminated nearly 143,680 Russian invaders.
