(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Despite significant losses, the enemy is attempting to reach the administrative borders of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said this in its latest update on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.
“During the day, the Air Force of the Defense Forces launched 16 strikes on the areas of concentration of occupiers' personnel and military equipment, as well as 2 strikes on the positions of their anti-aircraft missile systems. In addition, our defenders shot down a Su-25 aircraft and an Orlan UAV. Units of the rocket troops and artillery struck 4 areas of concentration of manpower during the day,' the General Staff said.
It is noted that the enemy does not abandon intentions to destroy critical infrastructure, strikes civilian objects and homes of the civilian population. During the day, Russian troops launched 7 missiles attacks and 23 air strikes. They carried out more than 15 attacks using multiple launch rocket systems.
The threat of Russia's strikes on civilian targets throughout Ukraine remains high, the General Staff stressed.
'They continue to focus their main efforts on conducting offensive actions in the Kupiansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Novopavlivka directions. They are strengthening the grouping of troops in the Lyman and Bakhmut directions, actively using aircraft to target the positions of our units,' the report says.
In the Volyn, Polissia, Sivershchyna, and Slobozhanshchyna directions, there were no significant changes. No signs of the formation of offensive groups were detected. The enemy continues to keep their units in the areas bordering Ukraine, and combat training activities are ongoing. Russian forces do not stop artillery shelling of Ukrainian army positions, as well as settlements near the contact line. During the day, areas of more than 20 settlements came under enemy fire.
In the Kupiansk and Lyman directions, the enemy launched mortar and artillery attacks on more than 15 populated areas, including Vilshana, Kyslivka, Kotliarivka and Pishchane in Kharkiv region and Novoselivske, Makiivka, Nevske, Kreminna, Dibrova and Bilohorivka in Luhansk region.
In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy used tanks, mortars and artillery to shell the areas of Spirne, Berestove, Vasiukivka, Paraskoviivka, Chasiv Yar, Bakhmut, Klishchiivka, Predtechyne, Bila Hora and Zalizne in Donetsk region. In total, more than 20 settlements came under enemy fire.
In the Avdiivka and Novopavlivka directions, the areas of 17 settlements came under tank, mortar and artillery fire, including Avdiivka, Vodiane, Pervomaiske, Nevelske, Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Maryinka, Bohoiavlenka, and Vuhledar. Enemy airstrikes were recorded in the vicinity of Vesele, Nevelske and Maryinka.
As Ukrinform reported, from February 24, 2022 to February 11, 2023, the Defense Forces of Ukraine eliminated about 136,880 Russian troops, including 1,140 soldiers of the past day alone.
