(MENAFN- Gulf Times) AFG College with the University of Aberdeen recently welcomed their first guest for the 2023 speaker series.
The series will see a number of high-profile guests from across a range of industries address the student community at the college.
The first guest, Soud al-Boinin, has worked for a number of key organisations in Qatar, having recently joined the Government Communications Office (GCO), serving in a number of strategic positions during his tenure.
The event was primarily aimed at the college's postgraduate student body but was also attended by senior members of the AFG management and the faculty, and a number of undergraduate students.
To coincide with the current MBA module being delivered to postgraduate students, al-Boinin spoke about his background and the important factors and competencies required when looking at strategy in a large organisation and from the perspective of national government.
The presentation ended with an opportunity for attendees to pose questions to the speaker on his experiences, having worked on strategy during the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic and more recently on the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
“We were honoured to welcome Soud al-Boinin to AFG College with the University of Aberdeen to share his knowledge and experience of working on strategy in a world that has seen more than its fair share of change over the last two years,” said Dr Gary Mullholland, interim head of school.“This visit from an expert from industry allows us to understand and appreciate how theoretical business and management concepts is put into practice in the real world.”
