Morocco, Spain Ink 19 Deals To Enhance Cooperation


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) RABAT, Feb 2 (KUNA) -- Morocco and Spain signed on Thursday 19 agreements and memoranda of understanding on cooperation in various fields.
The documents were inked during the 12th joint high-level meeting, co-chaired by Moroccan Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch and his Spanish counterpart Pedro Sanchez who leads a 12-member ministerial delegation on a visit to Morocco.
Hailing the visit as 'historic,' Akhannouch said it would consolidate the mutual trust and open new era of genuine cooperation and strategic partnership.
The visit will build on the achievements made since the last high-level meeting in Madrid in 2015, he added.
The documents signed today covers cooperation in such strategic sectors as renewable energy, railways, agriculture, fishing, tourism, culture and education, he added.
The Moroccan-Spanish Economic Forum, held on the sidelines of the meeting, saw the announcement of a credit line amounting to EUR 800 million (USD 869 million) for Spanish businesses. (end)
