SRINAGAR- The 14th UT Level Rugby 7's Championship concluded on Thursday at Polo Ground here. The Championship was held from the 21st to the 24th of November.
The tournament was organised by J&K Rugby Association and sponsored by J&K Sports Council for All Categories of Male and Female players, including Sub-Junior, Junior, and Senior of Jammu and Kashmir. Irfan Aziz was organising secretary of the tournament.
While sharing his views as a special guest, the General Secretary, Tariq Ahmad Zargar encouraged the participants to showcase their sports through such tournaments.
For young children (ages -12), Gold by Taqwa School Budgam, Silver by Budgam, and Bronze by Jammu. Throughout Sub-Junior, Kupwara won Gold, Pulwama won silver and Srinagar won bronze.
In the Sub-Junior Girls division, Jammu won the Gold, Srinagar won the silver, and Budgam won the bronze. In the Junior Girls division, Jammu won the Gold, Srinagar won the silver, and Pulwama won the bronze. In the Senior Girls division, Srinagar won the Gold, Jammu won the silver, and Baramulla won the bronze.
Under-17 Boys: Srinagar wins Gold, Bandipora takes silver, and Kupwara takes bronze.
Senior Men: Royal Rugby Club wins the Gold. Srinagar takes the silver, and Kupwara. Bandipora split the bronze.
At the closing ceremony, the chief guest, Faisal Ali Dar (a recipient of the Padma Shree Award), presented prizes to the winners, shared his opinions, and praised J&K Rugby and the officials for their commitment to the game and ongoing efforts.
With the most Gold in the Medal Tally, Srinagar won the overall trophy, and Kupwara took home the runners' prize.
